Role Description
The Piping Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Qatar, responsible for engineering design, review, and technical oversight of glass reinforced and HDPE piping systems for industrial projects.
Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material take-offs, as well as coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to ensure engineering solutions meet project specifications and ISO standards.
The role involves supporting installation teams with technical guidance, resolving site engineering issues, conducting inspections, and verifying that work complies with manufacturer requirements and relevant standards such as ISO 14692.
The Piping Engineer will participate in project planning, risk assessment, and quality assurance activities, contribute to method statements and procedures, and assist in commissioning and mechanical completion documentation.
Collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, timely reporting, and adherence to safety and quality practices are essential aspects of the position.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong piping engineering skills, including experience with GRP, GRE, FRP, and HDPE piping design, layout, and installation methodologies.
- Candidates should possess practical skills in interpreting engineering drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and 3D models, along with proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
- Candidates should possess skills in project coordination, including planning, scheduling, resource management, and interface with construction and quality teams on industrial sites.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of applicable standards and codes (e.g., ISO 14692, ISO quality management systems) and the ability to ensure compliance with client and manufacturer specifications.
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills to address design changes, site constraints, and technical challenges during installation.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in diverse, multicultural teams
