Piping Construction Manager

Role overview

Construction management

• Manage piping construction from fabrication through mechanical completion; develop execution plans, work packs, and installation methods.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams; ensure work follows specifications, approved drawings, and procedures.
• Monitor progress, implement recovery plans, support planning and scheduling, track baseline schedules, identify bottlenecks, and develop mitigation strategies.

HSSE and quality

• Promote safety and enforce company HSE policies and site rules; lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments.
• Ensure safe lifting, hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, tie-ins, and hot work; participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate QA/QC inspections and testing; verify welding, NDT, hydrotesting, reinstatement, flushing, and punch-list closure against project quality requirements.

Resources and stakeholders

• Manage construction supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and field engineers; optimize manpower and equipment deployment.
• Review productivity, coordinate construction material needs, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and interface with contractors, consultants, subcontractors, and project management teams.
• Participate in project meetings and progress reviews; support commissioning and start-up teams during system handover.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• 20 years of Oil & Gas industry experience and 10+ years as a Piping Construction Manager on Oil & Gas projects.
• Proven construction project execution experience, including management of large multicultural construction teams.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Technical skills and standards

• Piping fabrication and installation; isometric drawing interpretation; pipe support installation; welding management and NDT coordination.
• Hydrostatic and pneumatic testing; mechanical completion and commissioning support; construction planning and work packaging.
• Quantity tracking, progress measurement, material management and control, and risk assessment and mitigation.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, ASTM, ISO, ANSI, and client-specific Oil & Gas standards, including ADNOC standards.
