Position overview

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, high-quality Physics lessons across the secondary phase.
• Develop scientific understanding through practical investigation, enquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application.
• Differentiate teaching and use assessment to meet individual needs, monitor progress, and inform planning.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement, engagement, and behaviour in a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with Science colleagues on curriculum development and contribute to school life.

Candidate requirements

• Recognized teaching qualification such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, State Teaching Licence, or equivalent.
• Relevant bachelor's degree in Physics or a closely related subject, meeting UAE teacher approval requirements.
• Successful Physics teaching experience in a Secondary/High School setting.
• Strong Physics subject knowledge and ability to deliver practical, enquiry-based lessons.
• Understanding of assessment, differentiation, and strategies to support and challenge varied learners.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Advantageous experience

• International curriculum teaching experience is sought; IB MYP and/or DP experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience in a diverse international school community is advantageous.
• Previous UAE experience is advantageous but not essential.
