Role Overview

Lead product validation and characterization strategy for high-speed InP EMLs and photodetectors.

Deliver defensible results that support product down-selection and release decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute EVT/DVT characterization strategy, test coverage, acceptance criteria, analysis, conclusions, and reporting.
  • Extract performance parameters including bandwidth, RIN, extinction ratio, optical power, wavelength, spectrum, and modulation performance.
  • Interpret electrical and optical results using device physics to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes.
  • Develop characterization methods, test setups, fixtures, calibration, de-embedding, and measurement procedures.
  • Ensure data integrity, repeatability, and correlation across test setups.
  • Deliver validation reports with conclusions and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build Python data-processing, visualization, and analysis tools.
  • Partner with design, test, reliability, and product teams on methods and device-level troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or a related field; a PhD is welcome.
  • 5+ years of photonic or semiconductor device characterization and validation experience.
  • Strong InP device physics knowledge covering lasers/EMLs, modulators, and photodetectors.
  • Familiarity with high-speed modulation and PAM4 testing is required.
  • Hands-on experience with high-speed InP photonic device characterization and Python-based data analysis.
  • BERT, VNA/LCA, OSA, and related high-speed optical/RF equipment familiarity is strongly preferred.

Soft Skills

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Why Join Inpho?

  • Competitive salary, health benefits, equity packages, flexible work environment, and career growth opportunities.

Compensation
