Petroleum Engineer
1. Main areas (Specializations)
Drilling Engineer: Plans and supervises the drilling of wells, selects equipment, and ensures safe operation.
Reservoir Engineer: Analyzes formations, estimates oil reserves, and determines the optimal number of wells for maximum production.
Production Engineer: Responsible for the operation of completed wells, monitoring the flow of oil/gas and implementing stimulation methods (e.g. hydraulic fracturing).
2. Key Responsibilities
Systems Design: Develop drilling and operation plans that take into account geological features.
Data Analysis: Using Computer Modeling to Predict Reservoir Performance and Assess Risk.
Field control: Monitoring operations at facilities (towers, platforms), solving technical problems in real time.
Cost Optimization: Finding ways to reduce production costs while maintaining environmental standards.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict safety of personnel and preventing oil spills.
3. Requirements for the candidate
Education: Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, or geology.
Technical skills: Proficiency in modeling software (e.g. Eclipse, Petrel, Kappa) and knowledge of API standards.
Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, ability to work in a multinational team and high stress resistance.
Language: Fluent English (the main language of the international oil and gas business).
