Performance Test Engineer

Key responsibilities
- Design and execute performance test scripts for API, web, and mobile platforms using JMeter, K6, Gatling, or equivalent tools.
- Run load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests.
- Analyze frontend, middleware, and backend performance to identify bottlenecks.
- Build workload models and baselines aligned with business transactions and traffic patterns.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, mobile app, and infrastructure teams to resolve performance issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend tuning and optimization.
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
- Use APM and observability tools for performance visualization and alerting.
- Track response time, throughput, latency, error rate, and resource utilization KPIs.
- Prepare and present performance reports and dashboards.
Required skills and experience
- At least 5 years of hands-on performance testing and engineering experience.
- Proficiency with JMeter, K6, Gatling, or equivalent tools.
- Experience testing API, web, and mobile applications for performance and scalability.
- Understanding of frontend rendering, API latency, and backend throughput analysis.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions and pipeline integration.
- Experience with Dynatrace, Grafana, or equivalent observability platforms.
- Familiarity with containerized and cloud environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong analytical, debugging, system-tuning, communication, and reporting abilities.
Preferred qualifications
- Exposure to mobile performance tools such as Firebase Test Lab, BrowserStack, Android Profiler, or Xcode Instruments.
- Experience in capacity planning and scalability assessments across digital channels.
- Python, Groovy, or Shell scripting for automation and data correlation.
- Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle performance tuning.
- Performance testing or engineering certification is an advantage.
- Ownership, collaboration, adaptability, and attention to detail are valued.
