Performance Engineer

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking experienced Performance Engineers for upcoming full-time opportunities within their RO desalination and CCGT power plants in Saudi Arabia. This role is central to monitoring, analyzing, and enhancing plant performance, efficiency, and availability. The successful candidate will evaluate operational data, identify performance losses, and coordinate technical improvement initiatives with various plant teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze plant performance indicators, including energy efficiency, equipment availability, production output, and contractual performance requirements.
• Evaluate RO desalination performance, covering specific energy consumption, membrane efficiency, recovery rates, water quality, and pump performance.
• Analyze CCGT plant performance, including heat rate, thermal efficiency, power output, auxiliary consumption, and the performance of gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, and condensers.
• Identify performance deterioration, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve plant efficiency and reliability.
• Support performance testing, operating data validation, equipment inspections, and performance assessments during planned outages.
• Prepare daily and monthly performance reports, analyze deviations, and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, the Integrated Management System (IMS), environmental standards, and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Chemistry, and OEM representatives to implement approved technical improvements and support operational excellence.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in performance engineering, preferably within RO desalination or CCGT power plant environments.

Work Environment

This is a plant-based position located in Saudi Arabia.
