  • Tutors guide one or more students in understanding a skill or concept utilizing regularly scheduled tutor sessions.
  • Generally scheduled during blocks of time in both one-on-one and small-group formats for a maximum of three hours per week per subject.
  • It is preferred that students and tutors meet in groups in the SSC at scheduled times. Must notify the SSC Office Associate of absences, cancellations or schedule changes.
  • Must be open and flexible to assisting other students who utilize the SSC but are not part of a tutored group.
  • Communicate suggestions about Peer Tutor Program improvements, or about any difficulties or problems, to SSC staff or the Director of Retention and Learning Services.
  • Refer students who identify a specific need regarding a disability to the Learning Services Specialist.
  • If you know of a student needing help in any subject, direct him or her to the SSC to fill out an application to be tutored.
  • Must check student e-mail regularly for announcements and communications about tutoring; not less than every other day.
  • Must fill out a tutor log for each session and a timesheet by the deadline at the end of each pay period.
