Overview
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for children, utilizing age-appropriate techniques to assess visual acuity and overall eye health.
- Diagnose and manage comprehensive pediatric eye conditions, including amblyopia, strabismus, and congenital eye disorders, ensuring tailored treatment plans.
- Perform surgical interventions when necessary, including strabismus surgery and cataract extraction, with a focus on minimizing recovery time and maximizing outcomes.
- Screen & treat Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP).
- Utilize advanced imaging techniques and diagnostic tools, such as OCT and fundus photography, to enhance the accuracy of diagnoses.
- Work collaboratively with pediatricians, optometrists, orthoptists and other specialists to provide multidisciplinary care for children with complex health needs.
- Educate patients and their families about eye health, treatment options, and preventive measures to foster a supportive environment for recovery.
- Stay current with the latest research and advancements in pediatric ophthalmology, integrating new knowledge into clinical practice.
- Supervise and mentor residents and medical students, providing training in pediatric eye care and surgical techniques.
- Participate in community outreach and awareness programs to promote eye health and early detection of vision problems in children.
- Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facilitate continuity of care.
