PCB Layout Intern
Role Overview
Student internship with Semtech's Hardware Design group in its Signal Integrity Products business unit, at the Burlington, Ontario Design Center.

Student internship with Semtech's Hardware Design group in its Signal Integrity Products business unit, at the Burlington, Ontario Design Center.
The internship may last up to 16 months and provides hands-on work in card design, electrical modeling, and cross-functional product development.
The intern contributes to high-speed board design and assembly used to measure semiconductor product performance.
Responsibilities
- Work with senior engineers to develop evaluation platforms using bills of material, design tools, and manufacturing design rules.
- Perform schematic capture and PCB layout, and analyze and optimize system-level signal integrity using platforms such as Cadence Allegro/OrCAD.
- Support mechanical design of fixtures, housings, and thermal solutions using Autodesk Fusion.
- Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams on evaluation-platform development.
Minimum qualifications
- Strong debugging skills.
- Experience with Cadence Allegro for PCB layout.
- Experience with Autodesk Fusion for mechanical design.
- Familiarity with RF and high-speed digital design above 10 Gbps.
- Knowledge of optical and high-speed test equipment.
- Cross-functional teamwork and leadership skills, good communication and organization, and a customer-focused, self-starting approach.
Work arrangement
- On-site position in Burlington, Ontario, Monday through Thursday, with a 40-hour work week.
Compensation
- Estimated pay range is CAD 26 to CAD 28.50 per hour.
