Coordinates payroll for multiple companies with differing pay rules, ensuring salaried and hourly payroll is accurate and timely.
Serves as a payroll subject matter resource, resolves issues, improves processes, and supports system conversion efforts.
Works with a diverse employee population and colleagues across Human Resources, Accounting, and other departments.
Payroll operations and conversion
- Support payroll system modifications and process improvement; write work instructions and train staff as appropriate.
- Support system conversion activities including integrations, general ledger work, parallel testing, and process streamlining.
- Process salaried and corporate hourly payroll, handle employee questions, and maintain payroll records.
- Audit records, prepare payroll reports, research inquiries, and support union audits.
Tax, deductions, and employee terms
- Reconcile payroll taxes, review notices, coordinate vendor escalation, and support wage and tax adjustments.
- Process 401(k) loan and other payroll deductions and payments, resolving discrepancies.
- Review collective bargaining agreements and employee terms, implement payroll-related changes, and coordinate with HR.
- Provide assistance and coverage to other payroll staff.
Role expectations
- Apply payroll process knowledge and knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Handle confidential payroll information accurately and work with payroll, HR, Accounting, and IT colleagues.
- Reporting duties include use of Excel VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, queries, and reporting tools.
Duration and compensation
- Limited-duration role estimated to conclude between October and December 2027.
- Hourly salary range is $29.32–$31.25.
