You'll know the merchant objections, the competitive landscape, and the sales cycle before your first day.
The role
We're looking for a Payments Sales Executive to join our commercial team and drive merchant acquisition across the UAE.
You'll own the full payments sales cycle — from prospecting and qualifying merchants to running product demos, closing subscription deals, and handing off to onboarding.
You'll work closely with your Team Lead and the wider commercial team to hit monthly targets, represent Fortis professionally in the market, and help grow our payments merchant base across the region.
What you'll be doing
Lead management & sales execution
— Prospect and engage potential merchants through phone, email, and digital channels
— Qualify leads based on business size, payment needs, and product fit
— Conduct compelling payments product demos tailored to each merchant's situation
— Close subscription and service deals remotely, driving consistent revenue growth
Deal routing & collaboration
— Route large or complex payment opportunities to specialized teams when appropriate
— Maintain clear ownership and handover documentation in CRM
CRM & process discipline
— Keep accurate records of leads, calls, demos, and deal outcomes
— Follow sales SOPs, scripts, and playbooks consistently
— Use call recordings and analytics to sharpen your payments pitch, demos, and objection handling
What we'll measure you on
— Monthly revenue target
— Number of activated paid merchants
— Lead-to-sale conversion rate
— Response time and CRM accuracy
— Pipeline hygiene and deal progression
What you bring
— 1–3 years of experience in payments sales — terminals, acquiring, POS, payment gateways, or fintech products sold to merchants or SMBs.
This is a hard requirement.
— A real track record: merchants acquired, deals closed, targets hit or exceeded
— Exposure to F&B, retail, or service merchant segments is a strong plus
— Comfort running demos and managing pipelines in a fully digital environment
— Strong communication across phone, email, and video
— Experience with CRM systems — HubSpot preferred
— Familiarity with call analytics or sales enablement tools
— A target-driven mindset and the discipline to execute consistently
