Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Pastry Chef role based in Gurugram.
The Pastry Chef will prepare, bake, and decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts according to Whisk Cake Studio standards and custom client requirements.
Responsibilities include measuring and mixing ingredients, operating baking equipment, maintaining inventory of baking supplies, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
The role also involves collaborating with the design team on new flavors and designs, following strict hygiene and food safety guidelines, and assisting in daily kitchen organization and cleaning.
The Pastry Chef will work with the wider team to meet production timelines, support same-day orders, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Bakery and Baking skills, including preparation of cakes, pastries, and desserts.
- Proficiency in Food Preparation and Cooking techniques, with attention to taste, texture, and presentation.
- Demonstrated Culinary Skills in recipe execution, portioning, and consistent production under time constraints.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
- Previous experience in a pastry shop, bakery, hotel, or similar professional kitchen environment preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and peak festive seasons, as required by business needs.
- Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills, with a focus on quality and detail.
- Formal culinary or bakery/patisserie training or certification is an advantage.
