Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Painting Technician for a full-time, on-site position at our production facility in Sharjah. The Painting Technician is responsible for executing high-quality surface preparation, painting, and finishing of components, with a strong focus on carbon fiber aesthetics and premium surface finishes. The role ensures that all painted parts meet strict visual and quality standards required in aerospace, marine, and automotive composite applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Surface Preparation
- Perform surface preparation activities including, Sanding, masking, cleaning, and degreasing
Filling imperfections and surface leveling
- Prepare carbon fiber components while maintaining weave integrity and alignment
- Ensure surfaces are free from contaminants before painting
2. Painting & Coating Application
Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats using: HVLP spray guns, Air-assisted or conventional spray systems.
- Execute high-end finishes such as: Gloss / matte clear coat.
- Exposed carbon finishes, and cosmetic (Class A) surfaces.
- Follow specified paint thickness, curing cycles, and application techniques
3. Carbon Fiber Aesthetic Finishing
- Handle finishing of visible carbon fiber parts with precision
- Ensure: No distortion of carbon weave, Uniform gloss and finish, and high visual appeal (luxury-grade finishing)
- Perform polishing, buffing, and final touch-ups
4. Quality Control & Inspection
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as: Orange peel, Runs, sags, or uneven coating, Dust inclusions or pinholes, and color mismatch
- Conduct corrective actions including sanding, repainting, or polishing
- Support quality requirements such as FAI and inspection reports
5. Material Handling & Mixing
- Prepare and mix paints, primers, and coatings as per specifications
- Ensure correct ratios, pot life management, and safe handling
- Maintain proper labeling and storage of materials
6. Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of painting equipment
7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Follow safety procedures for handling paints, solvents, and chemicals Use appropriate PPE at all times
- Ensure compliance with environmental and workplace safety standards
