Role Overview
A painter prepares surfaces, applies paint, and maintains a high-quality finish on walls, ceilings, doors, and other structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, sand, scrape, and smooth surfaces before painting.
- Fill cracks, holes, and uneven surfaces using putty or filler.
- Apply paint, primer, varnish, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mix paints and match colors according to project requirements.
- Use and maintain painting tools and equipment properly.
- Ensure smooth, even, and professional paint finishes.
- Follow safety procedures when working at heights or handling chemicals.
- Calculate paint quantities and avoid unnecessary material waste.
- Keep the work area clean and store tools and materials properly.
- Follow instructions from the supervisor and coordinate with other workers.
- Inspect completed work and correct defects when necessary.
- Complete assigned painting tasks within the project schedule.
