Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Consultant Paediatric Ophthalmologist
with subspecialty expertise in
Oculoplastics and Cornea
to join a leading hospital in Abu Dhabi The successful candidate will provide specialised, high-quality ophthalmic care to infants and children, manage complex congenital and acquired eye conditions, and contribute to clinical leadership, teaching, and service development within a tertiary-care environment.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive paediatric ophthalmology services in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Diagnose and manage congenital and acquired eye disorders in children
- Perform specialised surgical and non-surgical procedures in
- paediatric oculoplastics and corneal diseases
- , including:
- Congenital eyelid and lacrimal disorders
- Paediatric corneal pathologies and infections
- Ocular surface diseases
- Trauma-related oculoplastic and corneal conditions
- Participate in emergency ophthalmology and on-call consultant coverage
Multidisciplinary & Leadership Role
- Collaborate with paediatrics, neonatology, neurology, ENT, and other specialties
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case discussions
- Provide expert consultation support to referring physicians
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior doctors and allied health staff
, Quality & Governance
- Contribute to teaching, clinical training, and continuing medical education programs
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, DOH regulations, and international best practices
