Who We Hire:

We hire Owner Operators that meet our Driver Requirements and have the desire to build a long-term stable career with us. We only want the best in the business and for that reason we pay premium rates and work hard to ensure our culture is Pro Driver in everything we do.

What We Haul:

We work with a mixed fleet of trucks including pick-up trucks, stake beds, mini floats, tractors with flatbed trailers and we specialize in hauling oil field equipment, pipe & other industrial equipment across the lower 48.

Where We Go:

We haul goods throughout lower 48 with a specialization in oil field equipment. We offer consistent local, regional, and long distance lanes for all of our trucks. A high percentage of our lanes are to the major shale plays throughout the United States. Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, North Dakota, & Pennsylvania are just a few of the states we visit frequently.

Qualifications

  • Lightning Logistics, LLC fully supports and follows all rules and regulations mandated by the US Department of Transportation, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Texas Department of Transportation Motor Carriers Division. We only hire professional, safe, and courteous drivers. Further, to ensure drivers uphold Lightning’s expectation for exceptional service, our drivers are subject to the following tests and prerequisites:

Owner Operators interested in driving for Lightning Logistics, LLC must meet the Driver Qualifications outlined below:

  • Must be between 23-69 years old
  • Must have at least 2 years driving experience
  • Must pass a vehicle & trailer (if applicable) inspection
  • Must not have more than 85 points on CSA Score
  • Must pass MVR search
  • Must pass background check
  • Must pass drug screen
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • MUST register CDL with Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and consent to a query by Lightning Logistics
  • Lightning Logistics requires each driver to adhere to our safety policy and mandates that they inspect their vehicles daily to prevent any potential hazards. With the vast experience our drivers possess in securing loads, you can rest assure your load will arrive safely and in perfect condition.

CDL, Class C, or Class B Driver’s License

Work Authorization Green Card Naturalization Papers

Equipment Documents:

Registration (Apportioned Cab Card) for truck & trailer

State DOT Inspection for truck & trailer

Bobtail Insurance (Proof of Coverage)

Below is an overview of the Qualification & On-Boarding Process that an Owner-Operator can expect to go through when contracting with Lightning Logistics.

  • On-Boarding Time: 1 Week
  • Note: Some circumstances may require more than a week due to missing paperwork, etc.

(1) Qualification

  • Meet Basic Qualification Metrics
  • Truck Inspection (Monday AM)
  • Complete Driver Application
  • Review CSA/MVR/Drug Screen

(2) Driver Orientation

Thursday’s @ 8:30am

Approximately 4 Hours

(3) Drive

The standard deductions listed below are what an Owner-Operator can expect to have deducted from their Weekly Settlements when contracted with Lightning Logistics.

Actual Fuel Expenses incurred during the weekly settlement pay period.

ELD = $15 ($100 Deposit)

IFTA = as required by law

Trailer Rental = If Applicable
