Operations Manager (Shipyard)

As our operations expand, you will take ownership of yard performance—overseeing complex repair activities, driving operational efficiency, and shaping the systems required to support sustainable growth.

In this high-impact leadership role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and commercially effective execution of all ship repair and maintenance activities.

Oversee all ship repair, maintenance, and floating dock operations, ensuring safe execution, regulatory compliance, and delivery to the highest technical standards.

Lead the planning and scheduling of all repair works, optimising yard capacity, resource allocation, and turnaround times across multiple concurrent projects.

Lead, develop, and performance manage a multi-disciplinary workforce, ensuring teams are trained, equipped, and aligned to operational, safety, and Emiratisation objectives.

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, port authorities, and regulatory bodies, ensuring smooth coordination across vessel berthing, logistics, compliance, and documentation.

Manage departmental budgets and cost control, while implementing strategies, performance metrics, and preventive maintenance programs to improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term profitability.

We are seeking a strong commercially aware, operational leader with a proven track record in managing shipyard newbuild and repair activities within complex, high-pressure environments.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Naval Engineering (or equivalent), with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in ship construction or repair, including hands-on responsibility for yard operations.

Strong understanding of shipyard operations, repair methodologies, class and regulatory frameworks, combined with proven capability in workforce leadership, planning, budgeting, and cost control.

Ability to interpret technical drawings and manage complex repair scopes.

Hands-on, decisive, and delivery-focused, with the ability to operate under pressure, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement across safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
