The Operations Manager supports overall management and strategic direction of the Rent a Car Division.
The role oversees retail sales, business development, daily operations, operational teams, and team leaders, with accountability for profitability, revenue, costs, fleet utilization, customer satisfaction, and approved business targets.
Business management and sales
- Manage retail sales and daily operations to improve profitability, grow revenue, and control costs.
- Execute approved business plans, sales strategies, and operational targets.
- Develop new business opportunities, corporate accounts, leasing contracts, and retail rentals.
- Monitor rental rates, pricing, vehicle utilization, revenue generation, and market competitiveness.
Operations and team management
- Oversee division operations and supervise team leaders; monitor performance, productivity, and target achievement.
- Coordinate staff, attendance, discipline, and performance management; support recruitment, training, and development.
- Resolve operational challenges and escalate critical matters to senior management.
Fleet and customer operations
- Monitor fleet availability, allocation, utilization, maintenance, documentation, expenses, and downtime.
- Oversee vehicle bookings, deliveries, collections, returns, and replacements; coordinate with workshops, insurers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Maintain customer-service standards, handle major complaints, escalations, breakdowns, and operational issues, and maintain client and partner relationships.
- Ensure timely execution of rental agreements and customer requirements.
Financial control, reporting, and compliance
- Monitor divisional revenue, expenses, profitability, collections, deposits, outstanding payments, fines, damages, and maintenance costs; apply cost controls.
- Review performance against budgets, targets, and profitability expectations.
- Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports and monitor sales, revenue, utilization, collections, and operational-efficiency KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, company policies, and procedures; maintain accurate fleet, rental, financial, and employee records.
- Identify operational gaps and implement process improvements; perform other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business administration, operations, logistics, or a related field.
- Three to five years’ experience in car rental, delivery, fleet management, or a similar industry; UAE experience is required.
- Strong leadership, coordination, problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and operational software; ERP, CRM, fleet-management, and AI tools are an advantage.
- Ability to prepare reports, monitor KPIs, work under pressure, and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid UAE driving licence is required.
