Role Description This is a part-time, hybrid Operations Manager role based in Abu Dhabi, with flexibility for some work from home.
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day administrative and operational activities, including scheduling, coordination of meetings and events, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
The role will support budgeting and basic financial tracking, assist with procurement and vendor management, and help maintain records, databases, and documentation.
The Operations Manager will also coordinate logistics for research projects, visiting scholars, and workshops, ensuring smooth execution of timelines and deliverables.
This position works closely with leadership to improve processes, monitor progress on key initiatives, and support the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the center’s operations.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated operations and administrative skills, including scheduling, documentation, and record management.
- Experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in an academic, research, or nonprofit environment.
- Basic budgeting, financial tracking, and vendor or procurement management experience.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple priorities in a part-time setting.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms (e.g., office productivity suites, online meeting tools, shared drives, simple databases).
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in urbanization, African development, or policy research is highly beneficial; prior experience in these areas is a plus.
