Manage all aspects of rail operations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective services.
Oversee operational personnel, including train control, planning, rostering, and terminal operations; serve as a primary interface with regulators.
Principal accountabilities
- Develop operational procedures, maintain compliance with the licence and safety case, and engage regulators to obtain and retain licences in Oman and the UAE.
- Investigate incidents, share lessons, perform Professional Head of Operations duties, and maintain a compliant competency management system.
- Promote operational best practice and support staff training and development; translate customer requirements into train paths, plans, and rosters.
- Create disruption contingencies and emergency response procedures with testing and exercises; produce operational KPIs for Board reporting.
- Ensure services are properly regulated on the network and coordinate with ER; develop delay attribution systems and advise on network capacity and plans to increase it.
- Represent OER at industry forums and in operations interface matters with ER.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an operations-related subject or related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant rail operations experience at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of railway logistics in international operations and demonstrable senior operational leadership.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interpret data analytically.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and GCC market dynamics.
- A strong safety background is desirable.
