Monitors and processes batch and online applications across multiple platforms and IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
Works on the Production Services Team, supporting applications on a 7x24x365 basis using the ZEKE scheduler.
Production support duties
- Monitor production batch job flows across z/OS, VSE, HP, UNIX, Windows, and iSeries using ZEKE and MVS/ISPF.
- Identify problems through monitoring, calls, emails, or tickets and provide production support to clients.
- Engage operations and support personnel to resolve issues promptly.
- Review errors with management, recommend permanent solutions, and identify potential bank impacts.
- Implement application changes and verify their accuracy and success.
- Maintain JIRA shift reports, online documents, and assigned projects.
- Help ensure services meet client expectations and service-level agreements.
- Use ZEKE, ZEBB, MVS, ISPF, IMS, DB2, OMS, OnDemand, OMVS, CICS, ServiceNow, and Connect:Direct daily.
Required qualifications and work schedule
- Undergraduate degree with an IT background.
- Ideally, experience with change management in complex programs with frequent requests and multiple priorities.
- Strong written and oral communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills.
- Able to work on site in a 7x24x365 environment, rotating 8- or 12-hour shifts, rotating on-call schedules, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to meet deadlines and maintain quality while handling multiple tasks.
Assets
- JCL environment and mainframe computing experience is an asset.
- Programming or coding experience with one or more listed technologies, including COBOL, REXX, Angular, React/Vue.js, VBA, C#, C++, Node.js, Active Directory, Elasticsearch, or Windows Server, is an asset.
- A postsecondary degree majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology is an asset.
- Experience working rotating shifts is an asset.
