Role overview
Manage end-to-end procurement in a food manufacturing environment, sourcing raw materials and packaging and supporting cost efficiency, product quality and supply continuity.
Procurement and supplier management
- Develop procurement strategies; source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, ingredients and packaging.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and service-level agreements; build supplier relationships and monitor quality, cost and delivery KPIs.
- Conduct supplier reviews and audits.
Cost, compliance and supply coordination
- Identify cost savings, monitor commodity markets, manage price fluctuations, and prepare procurement budgets and forecasts.
- Ensure food safety and quality compliance, material traceability and audit support.
- Coordinate with production, planning and logistics; manage inventory, waste, stockouts, lead times and delivery schedules.
- Mitigate supply risks and develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies.
Skills and qualifications
- Proven procurement experience in food manufacturing or FMCG; strong negotiation and contract-management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards; experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Professional procurement qualification such as CIPS is desirable.
Pay and benefits
- Salary is £55,000–£65,000 per year.
- Benefits include a 3% pension, private healthcare and dental cover, canteen and on-site parking.

- Fully on-site role with no hybrid or remote working; work location is in person.
