Role Overview
This newly created role leads global cloud operations and enterprise-wide cloud services and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
The role bridges business strategy and technical execution across cross-functional engineering teams.
The role covers delivery governance, CI/CD, and cloud hosting environments including AWS and Azure.
Programme and Delivery Management
- Own complex cloud, infrastructure, and automation programmes from inception to completion.
- Implement project governance, track budgets, manage RAID logs, and report progress to senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate onshore and offshore engineering teams and define roles, workflows, and delivery schedules.
- Facilitate communication among software development, IT operations, security, and external clients.
Technical and DevOps Oversight
- Oversee management and scaling of AWS, Azure, or private cloud environments.
- Ensure infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment pipeline best practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Embed DevSecOps security standards, compliance requirements, and ITIL frameworks into the delivery lifecycle.
- Monitor platform reliability, uptime targets, service levels, and logging and monitoring frameworks.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Manage enterprise-scale cloud transformation or DevOps programmes.
- Work within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models in fast-paced environments.
- Manage budgets and use tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or MS Project.
- Understand cloud architecture, including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, containerization, and Kubernetes.
- Have familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Have awareness of infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
Leadership Skills
- Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrate leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide engineering teams through operational change.
