We expect Cosmo teachers to be adaptive, patient, approachable, good at communication, reliable, professional, and have a strong foundation of either K-12 math, ELA, or SAT. Cosmo tutors should have at least 3 years of teaching experience with K-12 students. Since we are 100% remote, they need to have a strong understanding of online teaching tools and resources.

It takes around 2 weeks from when you apply to then teach with Cosmo, so you will want to give yourself some time before you are looking to begin. If you aren't available for a few more months, then we suggest applying closer to that time.

There is no limit! New teachers should be able to commit to at least 6 months with Cosmo and when taking on new students be able to complete the full 12 week cycle with them. We have teachers who have been with us for years now.

Our parents are looking for expert teachers to help their students, so our teachers should have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience with K-12 students. A teaching license is not required but great to have!

Our teachers must have a minimum education of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Current undergraduate students are not able to apply.

Teachers can select to either be given a minimum of 24 or 2 hours notice before a class. Teachers that allow for 2 hours notice are typically matched with more new students.

Cosmo will match you with students based on your availability, subjects, grade level of the student, and any special needs requirements of the student. To be matched with students as a new teacher, it is paramount to keep your availability open and up to date.

All classes are 50 minutes long.

Students join Cosmo for a minimum of 12 weeks and have class either once, twice, or three times a week. Many students have been with Cosmo for months or even years.

Our teachers use Cosmo's personalized learning plans, systematic curriculum, and materials in lessons. We offer more skills based learning rather than just doing their homework with them each week.

We currently only offer 1 on 1 classes.

Our teachers build their own schedule, including how much they work each week. We have some teachers who teach 5-10 hours a week and others who teach close to 40 hours a week. We currently offer a base rate of $20 per K-12 Math and ELA class and $23 per SAT class plus additional incentives.

Our teachers get paid on the 10th of the month for the previous month's classes via bank transfer.

All Cosmo teachers are independent contractors, so it is a 1099 position.
