Role overview
The Online Store Supervisor leads day-to-day online store development and grows revenue from curated second-hand, premium, and upcycled products.
The role oversees online product selection and listings, sales performance, website shopping experience, and coordination with retail, back room, and upcycling teams.
The position is part-time and a fixed-term contract of six months.
E-commerce and sales growth
- Manage online product selection, research, photography, pricing, descriptions, and listings.
- Monitor sales, conversion rates, inventory turnover, and other performance indicators to identify growth opportunities.
- Use sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to improve product selection, pricing, online merchandising, and marketing emails.
- Assess and improve website usability and the online shopping experience; maintain accurate, organized, appealing online inventory.
Merchandising and inventory planning
- Establish product-selection processes for online sales and in-store Featured Collections with the Back Room Team Supervisor.
- Plan future collections and seasons with Community Engagement and Upcycling teams, guided by sales and customer interest.
- Coordinate product availability, inventory management, and collection launches.
- Support in-person shopping appointments and pop-up sales while following cash-handling and financial procedures.
Team and customer operations
- Develop and deliver online order-fulfilment training with the Assistant Retail Manager.
- Coordinate workflows and product selection with retail, back room, and upcycling colleagues; work with the Marketing Coordinator on content creation.
- Share knowledge, establish procedures, and support consistent online and in-store sales standards.
- Provide welcoming, responsive customer service online and in person, and represent Double Take positively to stakeholders.
- Follow health and safety procedures, conduct inspections as required, and address or report concerns promptly.
Required qualifications
- Experience in online retail, e-commerce, or digital store operations; Shopify experience is preferred.
- Strong organization and project planning, ability to manage competing priorities independently, and experience using sales data or performance metrics to inform decisions.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills; ability to collaborate with colleagues with diverse backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and support needs.
- Commitment to YSM and Double Take's mission, values, and respectful approach; availability for flexible hours, including one weekend day per week.
- Successful completion of the required police record check in accordance with organizational policy.
Assets
- SEO, website usability, and e-commerce growth strategy experience are assets.
- Product photography, online merchandising, inventory management, and retail merchandising experience are assets.
- Experience training, coaching, or supervising staff is an asset.
Schedule and contract
- Part-time, fixed-term contract; contract length is six months.
- Expected hours are 37.5 per week; flexible hours include one weekend day per week.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is $21.00 per hour.
