Role overview

DNA is Oliver Wyman’s center for data, analytics, AI, and software development practitioners.

Developers work alongside consultants and client teams to turn business problems into working technology.

The role embeds with consulting and client teams, translating real-world workflows into solutions, then building, testing, and iterating with users.

Workplace

  • Hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the Montreal office or onsite with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical products and projects centered on AI, engaging with business functions and applying machine-learning expertise.
  • Design and deliver systems and machine-learning models for commercially impactful real-world problems.
  • Translate business problems and commercial opportunities into technical solutions by identifying needs beyond stated requirements.
  • Challenge current systems and processes through technical excellence and innovation.
  • Stay informed about AI progress and technology trends.
  • Build, test, and iterate on solutions with users and deliver secure production technology in client environments.

Candidate qualifications

  • Excellent full-stack programming and system-design skills.
  • Recent hands-on Python experience; another backend language such as C#, .NET, Java, Rust, or C++ is ideal.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one frontend technology or framework: React, TypeScript/JavaScript, or HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with AI or machine-learning systems, including LLMs, prompt design, agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses, and retrieval pipelines.
  • Understand APIs and integrations, SQL, version control, CI/CD, and security and access considerations for client deployments.
  • Demonstrated ability to own an end-to-end project in an ambiguous setting.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, and non-technical business users.
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Data-engineering experience with pipelines, databases or warehouses, and large-scale integration is a plus.
  • Bring initiative, problem-solving ability, curiosity, motivation to learn, and interest in understanding business problems and markets.

Why join

  • Work on varied projects with talented colleagues and industry experts across Oliver Wyman’s client base.
  • Use technology and AI to deliver demonstrable business value while developing skills and having impact from day one.

Eligibility

Employment is conditional on appropriate authorization to work in Canada and the United States, and maintaining the legal right to work in both countries for the duration of employment.
