OFFSHORE PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Perform the safe and efficient operation of production, utility and safety equipment in line with policies and all relevant statutory regulations.

Will be assigned to specialist area of oil, gas or utilities, and will be responsible for application of isolations and monitor LO/LC systems and operational safety registers.

Will also be required to perform first line maintenance in these areas.

1.

Perform, in line with company policies, production shift duties of operating and monitoring all processes and equipment associated with the station’s oil, gas production, utility and safety systems.

2.

Assume designated PS1 Emergency Response role and maintain up to date certification and competency, whilst also attending on-site training and emergency response drills.

3.

Be fully conversant with responsibilities within the Permit to Work System for keeping the worksite safe and clean, and ensuring that all isolations are performed to isolation procedures.

Advise Senior Production Operator of any potentially hazardous situations for immediate remediation.

4.

Be fully conversant with Station Emergency and Operating Procedures and all relevant Statutory Regulations; be aware of and adhere to such regulations so as to develop a safe and efficient working environment.

Attend all safety meetings with other operations personnel.

5.

Act as authorized gas tester in production areas.

Monitor and record equipment readings, and maintain an up to date log of all pertinent activities in designated areas.

6.

Ensure station metering is within required specification at all times (reporting all problems to the Senior Production Operator) and perform station testing (well, corrosion, chemical etc.) as required.

7.

Ensure all relevant production related data is reported, documented accurately, and pertinent records are maintained.

Collate shift and tour handovers data as per procedure.

8.

Perform additional duties as required by OIS/Operations Superintendent to maintain safe & efficient running of PS1.

The Production Operator is a key member of the operations team and acts under general supervision of Snr.

Production Operator and Operations Superintendent.

Any suggested isolation changes or any other recommendations shall be subject to review and endorsement by Snr Production Operator or Operations Superintendent.
