About This Role

Overview

An offshore logistics operations job involves coordinating the supply chain and transportation for offshore facilities like oil rigs or wind farms.

Responsibilities

include managing personnel and cargo transfers (including equipment, fuel, and waste), tracking inventory, ensuring compliance with safety and customs regulations, and planning vessel and helicopter schedules.

The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with knowledge of maritime and offshore industry standards.

Key responsibilities

Supply chain and inventory management: Coordinate the shipment of goods, such as drilling equipment, chemicals, and spare parts, to offshore sites.

Track inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment and manage waste backloading.

Personnel and vessel logistics: Plan and schedule the transfer of personnel via helicopter and vessel, including crew changes and emergency evacuations.

Documentation and compliance: Prepare and ensure all necessary shipping, customs, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) documentation is completed correctly and in compliance with national and international regulations.

Operational support: Work with on-site and onshore teams to ensure a smooth supply chain, monitor deliveries, and manage operational budgets.

Emergency response: Handle urgent requests for deliveries or equipment, manage emergency logistics, and ensure all safety protocols are followed during high-risk operations.

HSE coordination: Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all company and statutory health, safety, and environment standards.

This includes ensuring the safety of personnel during transfers and the proper handling of hazardous materials.

Equipment management: Keep track of all equipment, both owned and rented, and ensure rental equipment is returned promptly to minimize costs.

Visually check equipment condition and certification.

Key skills and qualifications

Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, complex schedules, and critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Problem-solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues that arise, such as unexpected equipment failures or weather delays.

Technical knowledge: Familiarity with offshore logistics processes, maritime regulations, and relevant software.

Safety focus: A strong commitment to and understanding of HSE policies and procedures is critical.

Leadership: Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team, with a result-oriented mindset.
