Role and clinic

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized, evidence-informed plans and functional goals.
• Provide individual intervention addressing sensory processing, self-regulation, motor skills, motor planning, daily living, participation, and independence as clinically appropriate.
• Educate parents and caregivers, provide home recommendations, and complete timely, accurate clinical documentation.
• Reassess progress and adjust treatment plans when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, behaviour analysts, physiotherapists, and other professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary program assessment and planning and provide recommendations on adaptations, sensory-motor needs, participation, and functional goals within OT scope.
• Maintain professional standards and meet consent, privacy, documentation, COTO, and Ontario legislative requirements.

Required qualifications

• Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) is required.
• Professional liability insurance meeting COTO requirements and a current Vulnerable Sector Check are required.
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team is required.
• Commitment to ethical, family-centred, evidence-informed practice is required.

Preferred experience

• Experience with autistic children and youth, sensory processing, motor development, or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Ontario Autism Program service experience, at least one year of post-registration pediatric autism experience, and current listing or eligibility for the OAP Provider List are preferred.
• Occupational Therapy Assistant supervision and experience in both pediatric and adult rehabilitation are assets.

Schedule and contractor model
