Assessment and IEPs
- Conduct annual OT assessments for each student before assessment and IEP meetings, tri-annual re-evaluations, and assessments as needed following referrals.
- Prepare reports for lead teachers’ Current Performance Level sections and generate prioritized IEP objectives.
Curriculum, therapy, and consultation
- Locate and implement ACE® related curriculum; develop and submit curriculum to the Program Specialist for approval when it is unavailable on ACE.
- Conduct weekly 30-minute classroom group lessons focused on OT objectives and activities.
- Provide approximately 24 hours per week of direct service, generally one hour per student weekly, in one or two sessions when possible.
- Prioritize shift time for student-specific OT objectives and consult with the lead therapist and program specialist about student progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy; excellent command of English; eligibility to work in the UAE; and valid DOH license or eligibility.
- Experience with children with ASD and with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) is sought.
- English-Arabic bilingual ability is preferred.
