Overview
Ensure nurses deliver safe and high-quality patient care and have a proactive attitude towards the patients and their families.
Develop and provide support to the Nurse-in-Charge, Nurse Supervisors in leading a team of Assistant and Registered nurses.
Evaluate nursing activities to ensure safe patient care, good caregiver relations and operational efficiency.
Perform direct clinical nursing care when required, mandating the requirement to wear NMC nursing uniform.
Conduct regular clinical rounds with nursing and other members of the inter-professional team.
Conduct regular clinical rounds talking with patients and patient bystanders being cared for within their clinical areas, to support patient experience.
Action and execute patient feedback to support a positive patient experience.
Improve the operational systems, service processes and policies in support NMC mission.
More specifically to support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation etc.
Establish, plan, implement and monitor KPIs that are relevant to the business and department(s).
Liaise with multiple stakeholders regarding the suitability of clinical equipment, inventory supplies and contribute to product evaluation.
Participate as a team member of Quality Management team in implementing standard operating procedures and protocols relating to patient care services.
Participate and lead in internal clinical audits and communicate to the clinical team to improve and change practice, reporting to the Director of Nursing.
Develop policies and procedures relating to patient care.
Develop clinical skill assessment tools and participate in the assessment of caregivers to ensure safe evidence-based care.
Participate in annual budget and manpower planning and monitor spending.
Provide management reports on patient care records and statistics, when required.
Manages Caregivers appraisals, performance focus and evaluates training needs analysis in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and the Nurse Educator
Identifies issues, taking a lead role in managing complaints, review, audit process to highlight concerns regarding patient care.
