Network Implementation Engineer, Google Enterprise Network

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Google's network reliably and at scale.
• Execute deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide.
• Develop creative approaches and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep operational costs low.
• Monitor the network and repair issues while anticipating needs and escalating issues.
• Own network documentation, update and maintain network designs and plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. - 2 years of experience in network operations, supporting and troubleshooting enterprise or service provider networks. - Eperience in Routing protocols, Network troubleshooting and Multiprotocol Label Switching. - Experience utilizing standard tools and processes to support multi-vendor networks, including network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers. Preferred qualifications: - Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Layer 1 optical transmissions systems, layer 3 routing TCP/IP, wireless networking, network design, or operations. - Experience serving in an on-call capacity, acting as a responder for network infrastructure incidents. - Foundational understanding of core networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VPNs).
