Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse role based in Riyadh.
The nurse will provide direct, high-quality bedside care to critically ill and premature newborns, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing ventilators and specialized equipment, and responding promptly to changes in condition.
Daily responsibilities include collaborating with neonatologists and the multidisciplinary team on care plans, performing assessments, documenting care accurately, and following evidence-based protocols and infection prevention standards.
The role involves supporting and educating families, explaining treatment plans, and promoting safe discharge planning where appropriate.
The nurse will also participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, continuing education, and adherence to hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated competence in Neonatal Intensive Care, including management of premature and critically ill newborns.
- Strong foundation in Nursing and Critical Care Nursing, with the ability to deliver evidence-based, family-centered care in high-acuity settings.
- Working knowledge of Critical Care Medicine and Medicine principles relevant to neonatal pathophysiology, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Current registered nursing license and appropriate professional registration in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or high-dependency neonatal setting is highly preferred.
- Relevant post-graduate training or certification in neonatal or critical care nursing is an advantage.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to respectful, inclusive, and culturally sensitive care.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by unit staffing needs.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development, quality improvement, and adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
