Role Description
This is a 6 month extended duration, on-site NDT Technician role based in Doha.
The NDT Technician will perform non-destructive testing activities, including surface and volumetric inspections, to assess the integrity of materials, welds, and components.
Daily responsibilities include preparing test areas, setting up and operating NDT equipment, interpreting and evaluating indications, and documenting test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
The role involves working closely with quality and engineering teams to support inspection plans, identify potential defects, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
The NDT Technician will also be expected to follow strict safety procedures, maintain equipment in good working condition, and participate in site toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Qualifications
- Min 3 to 5 years of experience needed.
- Experience in Turbo machinery and Rotating equipments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Eddy Current testing methods, including equipment setup, calibration, and indication interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with Ultrasonics (UT), including thickness measurement and weld inspection, with the ability to evaluate and report UT indications accurately.
- Experience in Inspection activities for piping, structural steel, or pressure equipment, including preparation of inspection reports and documentation.
- Knowledge of Corrosion mechanisms and assessment methods, with the ability to identify corrosion-related defects and recommend follow-up actions.
- Background in Quality Control practices, including adherence to relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO) and participation in audits or quality reviews.
- Relevant NDT certifications (e.g., ASNT Level II or equivalent) in one or more methods such as ET, UT, MT, PT, or RT, ISO 9712
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work safely in field and site environments.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary site teams.
- Previous experience in oil and gas, construction, or heavy industry projects in a site-based role is an advantage.
