NDT Quality Technician 1 or 2 - Weekend shift

The Opportunity

Testing and Inspection Duties

• Set equipment settings and conduct specified tests on metal parts.
• Perform visual, penetrant, ultrasonic, and magnetic particle testing.
• Interpret results against designated standards and mark conforming or defective areas.
• Prepare findings reports and make accept or reject decisions within qualification limits.
• Monitor weld procedures, inspect fit-up, and support in-process weld quality.
• Inspect and calibrate test equipment and document results.
• Document NDT methods and results, support training, maintain equipment, and enter production data.
• Use cranes, hoists, forklifts, or other material handling equipment as required.

Role Qualifications

• Pass practical examinations as a condition of employment.
• Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematic diagrams, welding symbols, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Use word processing, spreadsheet, email, and shop floor control applications.
• Read internal manufacturing paperwork and electronically record production information.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Level 2 qualifications under ASNT SNT-TC-1A in VT, MT, UT, PT, or AWS CWI are preferred.
• A welding background is preferred.

Schedule

• Schedule is Monday through Friday during business hours.

Workplace

• Work is performed in a manufacturing production environment in Winsted, Minnesota.

Compensation

• Salary range is $27.17 to $32.12 per hour.
• Freight Train Profit Sharing incentive averages an additional $3.50 per hour when goals are met.
