You are an experienced editor with at least five years in a daily newsroom, ideally with a background in business, financial or economic journalism
You have excellent news judgment and can quickly identify the stories, trends and developments that matter to our readers
You understand the difference between reporting what happened and explaining why it happened, what is driving it and what comes next
You are an excellent writer and editor who can work quickly and accurately under tight deadlines
You are comfortable working across different formats, from breaking news and daily analysis to explanatory journalism, enterprise reporting and long-form features
You have a strong understanding of Canadian business and the economy, and an appetite for developing that knowledge further
You are a collaborative leader who knows how to work effectively with reporters, editors and newsroom leaders
