About This Role

Role Description

The General Manager provides overall strategic leadership and operational direction for voco Monaco Dubai and voco Nice (pre & post-opening).

This role ensures exceptional guest experiences, strong financial performance, and the embodiment of IHG’s “True Hospitality” brand values across both hotels.

As a key representative of the brand and the owner’s vision, the General Manager will drive excellence in service, operational efficiency, profitability, and people development, positioning both properties as flagship voco destinations in Dubai World Islands.

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the successful operation of voco Monaco Dubai and the pre-opening, launch & successful post opening operations of voco Nice Dubai World Islands.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans aligned with IHG and owner objectives.
  • Foster brand consistency and innovation across both properties.
  • Serve as the principal liaison between hotel ownership, IHG corporate, and the on-site leadership team.
  • Set clear business direction, performance targets, and measurable goals to achieve sales, revenue, and profitability expectations of the owners.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations across all departments: Rooms, F&B, Engineering, Housekeeping, Finance, HR, Commercial, IT, and Security.
  • Drive high standards of service, cleanliness, and safety in alignment with IHG brand standards.
  • Implement operational initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.

Financial Management

  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Drive revenue growth and maximize GOP through effective cost control and revenue management.
  • Oversee capital planning and asset management, ensuring long-term property value and ROI.

People & Culture

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team with a strong focus on succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Ensure HR policies, training programs, and talent development align with IHG standards and UAE labor law.

Guest Experience

  • Champion the “True Hospitality” promise by embedding brand service values in every interaction.
  • Maintain top-tier guest satisfaction scores through proactive engagement and service recovery.
  • Build genuine relationships with VIP guests, long-stay clients, and key partners.

Pre-opening Leadership (voco Nice)

  • Oversee pre-opening budgets, project timelines, OS&E/FF&E planning, and operational readiness.
  • Recruit and train the pre-opening team to deliver seamless brand integration and launch success.
  • Collaborate with corporate and ownership teams to ensure brand and commercial readiness.

Commercial & Community Relations

  • Strengthen brand visibility and reputation through community engagement and strategic partnerships.
  • Represent the hotels at key industry events and act as spokesperson with media, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Utilize technology, distribution channels, and digital platforms to optimize market share.
  • Set clear commercial direction and performance targets to achieve sales growth, revenue generation, and profitability expectations aligned with ownership goals.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and revenue teams to drive market leadership and strengthen competitive positioning for both voco Monaco Dubai and voco Nice Dubai World Islands.
  • Build strategic alliances with tourism bodies, travel partners, and corporate clients to position voco Monaco Dubai and voco Nice Dubai World Islands as signature voco destinations in the region.

Responsible Business

  • Uphold sustainability and environmental standards to reduce carbon footprint.
  • Maintain compliance with all local regulations, IHG policies, and safety standards.
  • Ensure security, risk management, and crisis preparedness across both operations

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in business, hospitality management.
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience out of which minimum of 3 years in Senior Leadership of a 5* hotel as Hotel Manager or Executive Assistant Manager or General Manager.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple departments in a luxury hotel setting; Relevant certifications or professional memberships in hotel management or hospitality are advantageous
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
