Basic Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 9 years’ journeyman experience (i.e. electrician, pipefitter, HVAC, etc.) in maintenance and renovation of commercial/industrial facilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong mechanical knowledge and background is highly desired and general industrial construction knowledge is preferred. Proficiency in Lock/Tag/Verify and hazardous energy control processes is highly desired. Lead or supervisory experience is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience working in and dealing with hazardous environments and materials. Familiarity with labor relations principles and working in a union environment. Proven leadership skills and be able to work well in a team environment. Motivated self-starter who can work independently and participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory. Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever-changing needs. Special Requirements: Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after offer. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
