Senior Project Manager - Kong API Management

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects focused on Kong API Management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and implement strategies for utilizing Kong Entities and Lua Scripts to enhance API functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy Kong plugins that meet project requirements.
• Oversee the integration of DevOps practices into the project lifecycle, ensuring efficient CI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks related to API management and project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and performance metrics.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in API management and project execution.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong expertise in Kong Entities and Lua Scripts.
• Proficient in the Kong Plugin API.
• Solid experience in DevOps practices and tools.
• Extensive knowledge of Python programming.
• Experience with CI/CD methodologies and tools.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of API security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in project management, specifically in API management and DevOps.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Relevant certifications (PMP, Agile, etc.) are a plus.
