Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the firm's AML/CFT compliance framework in line with VARA requirements and UAE regulations.
• Conduct transaction monitoring investigations using Chainalysis and escalate suspicious activity where required.
• Manage KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, UBO verification, and ongoing customer risk reviews.
• Prepare and submit STRs/SARs through goAML.
• Ensure compliance with Travel Rule requirements.
• Manage regulatory reporting and ongoing compliance obligations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for VARA inspections, audits, reviews, and regulatory requests.
• Conduct firm-wide ML/TF risk assessments and oversee remediation activities.
• Deliver AML training and maintain audit-ready compliance documentation.

Requirements

• Direct hands-on experience with VARA regulatory requirements.
• Previous experience as MLRO, AML Officer, Compliance Officer, or Financial Crime professional within the virtual assets industry.
• Experience with goAML, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and customer due diligence.
• Strong understanding of UAE AML regulations and VARA Rulebooks.
• Experience interacting with regulators and managing regulatory inspections.
