Role Summary The Middleware Architect is a strategic technical role within the Internal IT department, responsible for designing, architecting, and implementing robust, scalable, and secure integration solutions across the entire enterprise. This position is crucial for enabling seamless system communication, supporting digital transformation, and ensuring adherence to modern architecture principles.
Key Responsibilities & Impact
- Integration Architecture: Architect and implement sophisticated middleware solutions and API frameworks to enable seamless data exchange and integration across diverse enterprise systems, minimizing manual processes and redundant data flows.
- Standards and Governance: Establish and enforce enterprise integration standards, security protocols, and performance benchmarks to optimize IT operations, ensure consistency, and minimize maintenance costs.
- Security & Compliance: Drive the implementation of security best practices, including data protection, encryption, and regulatory standards, within all integration layers.
- Performance Optimization: Focus on continuous performance tuning for integration solutions, including API design and optimization, to improve overall system efficiency and reduce latency.
- Strategic Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with application development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure robust connectivity, scalability, and strict compliance with enterprise architecture principles.
- Innovation & Strategy: Drive innovation in integration strategies by leveraging modern API frameworks and emerging middleware technologies to support the organization's scalability goals and digital transformation initiatives. Required Qualifications and Experience:
Educational & Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 6–8 years of experience demonstrating strong capabilities in system integration, API management, and architecture design.
- Certifications in middleware technologies or integration frameworks (e.g., MuleSoft, API Management) are highly advantageous. Core Competencies & Technical Skills

- Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Ability to assess complex integration challenges, identify pain points, and propose innovative, strategic solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams (development, infrastructure, security).
