About The Role
The Technology team is responsible for building the systems and experiences that power Revolut.
From the infrastructure behind our innovative app to the features relied upon by millions of customers worldwide, the team combines technical excellence, speed, and a commitment to meaningful outcomes.
We are seeking a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer to join a team that values simplicity and efficiency.
The focus is on keeping frameworks lightweight and prioritising clean, maintainable code delivered quickly through test-driven development (TDD), domain-driven design (DDD), and continuous integration and delivery practices.
Our technology stack includes Java 17/21, GCP, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, NewRelic, PostgreSQL, Redis, Spock, jOOQ, and Flyway.

What You'Ll Be Doing
- Building mobile APIs
- Developing microservices to support the evolution of our architecture
- Enhancing critical systems that power the business, including risk management, fraud detection, and payment processing
- Contributing to both greenfield development projects and the ongoing improvement of existing systems
What You'Ll Need
- Strong proficiency in Java
- 4+ years of experience in backend development
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field
- The ability to learn quickly, paired with an ambitious and results-driven mindset
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to perform effectively within a fast-paced team environment
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
- Fluency in English
- Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Kotlin or Scala
- A background in finance
- Experience working within a startup or scale-up environment
- Experience in a product-focused organisation
