Role Description
The MEP Project Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in the London Area, United Kingdom, supporting major data centre and mission-critical construction projects.
The individual in this role will oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations from pre-construction through handover, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards.
Daily responsibilities include coordinating with design teams, contractors, and clients; reviewing and managing technical submittals; monitoring progress against project schedules; and resolving site issues to keep projects on track.
The MEP Project Manager will manage project budgets and cost controls, lead site meetings, prepare status reports, and ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and client specifications.
This role also involves mentoring site teams, promoting best practices in MEP delivery, and maintaining clear, consistent communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) knowledge, including coordination of complex building services in data centre or mission-critical environments.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including scheduling, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and delivery of projects from pre-construction through completion.
- Candidates should possess Budgeting and cost control skills, with experience managing project finances, forecasts, and value engineering activities.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Submittals, including reviewing technical documentation, ensuring compliance with specifications, and coordinating approvals with design and client teams.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with UK building regulations, relevant industry standards, and health and safety requirements for construction projects.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar), and office productivity tools.
- Candidates should ideally have prior experience in data centre or mission-critical projects and hold a relevant technical or engineering qualification (e.g., degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or Construction Management).
