This is a full-time, on-site role for a MEP Planning Engineer based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The MEP Planning Engineer will develop and maintain project schedules for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, coordinating with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align timelines and resources.
Daily responsibilities include preparing detailed work breakdown structures, monitoring progress, updating look-ahead schedules, and identifying schedule risks and variances.
The role involves analyzing productivity, forecasting resource needs, and supporting production planning to ensure timely completion of MEP activities.
The MEP Planning Engineer will also assist with project control activities, including reporting, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders and subcontractors to maintain compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong planning and project control skills, including experience in developing, tracking, and updating MEP project schedules.
- Solid analytical skills and production planning capabilities to assess progress, optimize resource allocation, and improve productivity.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and clients, and for preparing clear reports and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical
- Professional experience as a Planning Engineer or MEP Engineer within construction or MEP contracting environments, preferably in the UAE or GCC.
- Proficiency with project planning and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of MEP systems, construction methodologies, and relevant codes and standards.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with cost control, progress measurement techniques, and preparation of periodic project reports is an advantage.
- Professional certifications in project management or planning (e.g., PMP, PSP) are a plus.
