Role Overview

Role purpose
Lead, manage, and coordinate mechanical and electrical engineering design activities across Riyadh headquarters and Cairo offshore operations.
Deliver technically rigorous, code-compliant MEP design solutions across CD, SD, DD, IFT, and IFC project stages.
Build and retain a high-performing cross-location MEP engineering team and represent MEP interests with senior leaders and clients.
Design quality and compliance
- Review and approve MEP design packages at each project stage.
- Enforce the Saudi Building Code, NFPA, BS/IEC, and other relevant standards.
- Lead technical design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, and sign-off of technical deliverables.
Team leadership
- Directly manage Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Leads in Riyadh.
- Matrix-manage Cairo Principal Engineers on workload and technical standards.
- Conduct performance appraisals, provide mentorship, chair team meetings, and support recruitment and retention.
Project delivery
- Review and maintain the MEP project program across the portfolio.
- Resolve design program conflicts and resource bottlenecks.
- Liaise with Project Managers and the Design Director on delivery risks and escalate risks requiring senior intervention.
Coordination and BIM
- Oversee MEP coordination with architecture and other engineering disciplines.
- Direct BIM Mechanical and Electrical Modelers on model management.
- Review clash detection reports and coordinate resolution across Riyadh and Cairo teams.
Clients and stakeholders
- Attend client design review and progress meetings.
- Respond to client and lead consultant technical queries and RFIs.
- Prepare MEP design strategies and presentations and interface with statutory authorities on approvals.
- Support the Design Director and business development team on pursuits and proposals.
Quality governance
- Develop and maintain MEP-specific QA/QC procedures and checklists.
- Conduct periodic quality audits of Riyadh and Cairo design outputs.
- Manage technical nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Lead and manage mechanical and electrical engineering design activities across project work stages.
- Ensure MEP designs comply with the Saudi Building Code, NFPA, BS/IEC, and other relevant standards.
- Manage Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Leads in Riyadh and matrix-manage Cairo Principal Engineers.
- Oversee MEP project schedules, resource loading, milestones, and delivery risks across the project portfolio.
- Direct interdisciplinary coordination and BIM model management to deliver clash-resolved design packages.
- Represent MEP engineering capability in client meetings, design reviews, technical correspondence, and authority interfaces.
- Implement MEP-specific QA/QC procedures, design reviews, quality audits, and corrective actions.
