Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our MEP supervision team for construction projects in Dubai.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring electrical installations to ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable codes and standards.

The role requires close coordination with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure quality workmanship, timely inspections, and successful testing and commissioning of electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations including:

+ Power Distribution Systems

+ Lighting Systems

+ Fire Alarm Systems

+ Emergency Lighting

+ UPS & Generator Systems

  • + Low Current Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, PA Systems)
  • Review Inspection Requests (IRs) and conduct inspections in a timely manner
  • Verify installations against approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and authority requirements
  • Identify non-conforming works and issue observations/NCRs where required
  • Monitor material approvals, deliveries, and installation quality
  • Maintain inspection records, daily reports, and quality documentation
  • Coordinate with contractors and other disciplines to resolve site issues
  • Witness testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Support senior engineers in reviewing electrical submittals and technical documentation

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years of UAE experience in electrical inspection and supervision
  • Mandatory experience on Dubai Municipality and Dubai Civil Defence regulated projects
  • Experience in hospitality, residential high-rise, commercial, or mixed-use developments

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical inspection procedures
  • Familiarity with DEWA, DM, and DCD requirements
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications
  • Strong reporting and communication skills
  • Proficiency in quality control and inspection documentation
