MEP Design Manager – Data Centres

The Role

Work Arrangement

• The role is based in the United Arab Emirates and is fully remote.
• The employment type is full-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end MEP design delivery across all project stages.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Coordinate with engineering, data centre design, project management, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Review and approve MEP design deliverables, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure coordination across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, ELV, and specialist systems.
• Monitor project schedules, design milestones, and technical risks.
• Support value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
• Coordinate technical discussions with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and project requirements.
• Support commissioning planning and construction-phase technical coordination.
• Maintain design documentation, reports, and technical records.
• Mentor engineering team members and promote quality, safety, reliability, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in MEP design, including leadership experience on complex engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of data centre MEP systems, including critical power, UPS, cooling, BMS/EPMS, and fire protection systems.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM workflows, or similar engineering software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, BS, NFPA, Tier standards, or mission-critical infrastructure is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with international teams.
• UAE or GCC data centre experience is advantageous but not required.
• Relevant professional engineering registrations or data centre certifications are welcome but not mandatory.
