Opportunity

Position schedules

• The full-time position is predominantly in specimen reception and processing and includes evening and weekend shifts.
• The part-time position is 4.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, combining administrative and specimen reception duties.

Remuneration

• Remuneration is $33.76–$35.05 per hour plus superannuation.

Duties

• Receive and triage pathology specimens, register patients, and enter requests.
• Process specimens and prepare them for transport or delivery to laboratories for timely, accurate diagnostic testing.
• Assist with laboratory administration, including procurement and roster entry.

Candidate requirements

• Previous pathology-setting experience or demonstrated ability to learn the pre-analytical environment.
• Manage competing priorities and time constraints; communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
• Demonstrate problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to investigate and resolve general issues.
• Perform administrative tasks with attention to detail; demonstrate proficient computer skills and data accuracy.
• Understand confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive laboratory information in accordance with relevant requirements.
