Medical Insurance Accountant

About This Role

Solumx is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Insurance Accountant to join our healthcare finance team in Doha. This role is responsible for managing insurance-related accounting processes, ensuring accurate claims recording, reconciliation, and compliance with healthcare billing and insurance regulations. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with hands-on experience in medical insurance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and record medical insurance claims, reimbursements, and settlements accurately
• Reconcile insurance payments with patient billing records and hospital accounts
• Monitor outstanding insurance receivables and follow up on pending claims
• Verify claim documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance requirements
• Coordinate with insurance providers, healthcare departments, and finance teams
• Prepare detailed reports on insurance claims, recoveries, and outstanding balances
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes for insurance-related accounts
• Ensure compliance with healthcare insurance policies, contracts, and regulations
• Assist in resolving claim rejections, disputes, and billing discrepancies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in medical insurance accounting, billing, or healthcare finance
• Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and reimbursement systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/healthcare billing systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills for coordination with insurers and internal teams

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working in hospitals, clinics, or insurance companies
• Familiarity with healthcare coding and insurance claim standards
• Knowledge of ERP or hospital management systems
• Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines efficiently
